Are you looking for a mixture of relaxation and adventure? Wonderful. The Petite Camargue offers all year round many facets.  Especially for those who like to be outdoor while exploring this touching landscape rich of history, nature and culture. Did you know that the Camargue Gardoise, where Vauvert is located, was named Grand Site of France in 2014? Many efforts have been made and as a result visitors and locals can enjoy perfectly maintained cycling routes along the canals (voie verte) and the Maison du Grand Site (a visitor and information center) is a “must” on your to-do list.

A perfect day could be: In the morning, you do an excursion with an ornithologist to the bird sanctuary “Scamandre”, after that you do a relaxed cycling tour along the Canal du Rhône à Sète, along white Camargue horses, black bulls and pink flamingos, on the way back you do a stop at a winegrower and enjoy a wine tasting.

Or you will be on the trail of the Romans and spend a day in Nimes. There, you can stroll beautifully and perhaps even visit a performance in the arena?

Vauvert is a perfect base to explore the area. Less than half an hour to Arles, Aigues-Mortes and about 40 minutes to bustling Montpellier. Or visit the Pont du Gard (Unesco World Heritage) which is not more than an hour away.

From May to the end of October a trip to the nearby sea lures. Enjoy a beach day in Grau-du-roi or on famous beach Espiguette or have a look at the famous Black Madonna in the church of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer or just directly go to our favourate café to enjoy a real Café Gourmand.

Certainly you are allowed to enjoy a lazy day in our garden. Read a book, cool down in the pool and you might push yourself up and go for a run in the surrounding wineyards. We are happy to show you the best trails and if time allows we would be glad to join you.

We would be happy to advise you on site on the latest events or organize a guided tour for you with our partners.
