Our big family house with pool in the Camargue, “Envie de Sud”, is aimed at customers looking for a comfortable place with half-board service.
A hearty breakfast/brunch is always included in the package. So are bed linen, towels and final cleaning. Dinner is optional. It is not possible to rent the house on a self-catering basis.
Our Mediterranean cuisine, with its emphasis on vegetable dishes, enjoys an excellent reputation.
You can book this service every evening during your stay or just occasionally. The quality and creativity of our Mediterranean cuisine and the design of our rooms are undoubtedly our strong points compared with our competitors. We look forward to spoiling you.

Group capacity: 12 to 16 people / 6 bedrooms & studios with private bathrooms
The big family house with pool can accommodate a maximum of 19 people (including children and babies) as a family or among friends who know each other very well. For reasons of comfort, we can only accommodate large groups in the summer, from mid-May to the end of September, when life is in the garden and you are only inside to sleep.
If you need more than 6 rooms to have more privacy, we can rent extra rooms from a neighbour.
Details of our 4 bedrooms and 2 studios of the big family house with pool in Camargue. All our rooms have a private bathroom.
You’ll find yourself in the veranda in the garden, or in the dining room in winter.
If you ever want to prepare a small meal yourself for the group, there’s a simple kitchen at your disposal. There are enough dishes for 25 people but no dishwasher. Someone has to roll up their sleeves…
Our big family house with pool in the Camargue is situated in a quiet street. The house is built around an intimate, leafy courtyard. A bit like a Moroccan riad. The swimming pool (unheated) is open depending on the weather between May and October.
Excellent location close to tourist sites in the Camargue
Vauvert is a small, charming and quiet town with all amenities, such as shops and restaurants, within walking distance. 20 minutes from Nîmes, 40 minutes from Montpellier and 30 minutes from Arles. At the doorstep of the Camargue and Provence.
The highlights of a stay in the Camargue are the nature parks. A horse ride with Camargue horses, a bike ride with a picnic and a view of the pink flamingos, a visit to the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes, a tour of Nîmes or a stroll through Saintes Maries de la Mer.
How much is the rent?
Prices for groups of up to 16 people (including breakfast)
* 1700 euros for a stay of 1 or 2 nights
** 2550 euros for a 3-night stay
** 3200 euros for a 4-night stay
***4500 euros for a week (7 nights).
For each additional person (> 16 guests), we charge 30 euros/day.
Extra room at a neighbour’s approx. 75 euros/night
Dinner 39 euros adults, 25 euros teenagers, 15 euros children

Accommodation - the details of every bedroom
We have 4 bedrooms and 2 studios with kitchenettes. Each with its own private bathroom.
In total we have 13 beds in different sizes.
The rooms are all beautifully decorated and very comfortable to sleep in. There are good duvets. The rooms are air-conditioned/heated. Beds are made on arrival. Towels are provided.
Details of our 6 bedrooms:
Family room on the ground floor – 1 double bed (160×200) + 1 sofa bed for 1 or 2 people (90/180×200) and/or 1 extra bed 90×200
Twin/double room – 2 single beds or 1 double bed (180×200)
Double room – 1 king-size bed (160×200) + 1 extra bed 90×200 or 1 cot
Family room – 3 single beds (90×200) + 1 extra bed 90×200 or 1 cot
Family studio – 1 double bed (160×200) + 1 mattress (160×200) on a mezzanine, kitchenette + 1 cot
Studio with terrace – 1 double bed 160×200, terrace, kitchenette
If you would like a little more comfort (for example only double rooms), we can rent 2-3 extra rooms on request in a Chambre d`hotes in the parallel street. The price is around 80 euro/ night/ room. Meals are taken at Envie de Sud.
It is not possible to add tents in the garden or inflatable mattresses in the rooms. There is no space and Envie de Sud is a house that offers a certain level of comfort.

- The veranda with two tables (2 tables for 8 people)
- Dining room (maximum 18 people)
- Outside in the courtyard (maximum 25 people)
Can we use a kitchen? We would like to cook for ourselves.
Yes.
Kitchen facilities: There are dishes and pots and pans. An oven, 4 hotplates, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, several coffee machines (filter and Nespresso capsules) and 2 small fridges with a mini freezer compartment. There is no dishwasher.
The bedrooms also have a small fridge with mini freezer and both gîtes have a kitchenette with everything you need.

We’re going to set the mood in the evening...music, dance floor...is there a place to party?
It`s normal that you want to enjoy life and have fun. Envie de Sud is exactly the place to get together with family and friends and make memories. Gathering around a table, chatting, laughing….eh yes, that`s what counts in life and you`ll find this possibility in our charming house. However, our property is not suitable for partying until the morning, as it is located in the centre of Vauvert. Out of respect for our neighbours we have to limit the noise. Especially at night. Tell us about your party idea and we’ll see how we can organise it.
Anything else I need to know and communicate to my co-travellers?
- Envie de Sud is a 100% non-smoking area, inside and out. Those wishing to smoke are invited to set up on the terrace in front of the house (rue Broussan).
- The use of drugs is not tolerated.
- Please show respect for your neighbours. As the house is in the centre of Vauvert, parties with loud music are not permitted.
- We do not accept pets.

Is there a playground for the children? A garden to play ball?
We have a small garden – a very nice courtyard with lots of vegetation and a swimming pool. There are different sitting areas with tables and chairs and deckchairs. Your children can play board games or do creative workshops like drawing…but unfortunately there is no place to play ball in our property.
Nearby: (10 minutes walking distance)
There are at least 2 playgrounds for children
There is a fitness park next to the station for those who like to work out
There is a health park in the Castellas park
And of course the “voie verte” – a safe cycle path that will take you to the sea…
What are the booking/cancellation conditions?
Payment: At the time of booking you pay a deposit of 20%. A further 30% deposit is payable 60 days before arrival. The last 50% is due 30 days before arrival.
Check-in: Day of arrival from 9.00 am (applies to the common area and the seminar room, rooms are available by 5.00 pm at the latest)
Check-out: On the day of departure from 18.00 hrs at the latest (applies to the common area and the seminar room, rooms must be vacated by 11.00 hrs)
Standard cancellation: Cancellations up to 60 days prior to arrival are free of charge, cancellations between 30 and 59 days prior to arrival are subject to a 50% cancellation fee, cancellations between 1 and 29 days prior to arrival are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. In the event of cancellation, we will immediately put the gîte up for sale and only charge for the days when the gîte is actually empty. However, we recommend that you take out travel insurance in case of exceptional events such as illness or accident. If you wish to have complete flexibility, we recommend that you book at the last minute.
Cancellation Covid-19: Cancellation without charge up to the last minute is of course possible if travel in France is prohibited by the government. (National lockdown). In all other cases, the standard cancellation conditions apply.
Availability for privatisation with family or friends.
Please note that rates vary according to the period. We charge a minimum of 2 to 3 nights even if you only stay one night. In July/August the minimum stay is 4 nights.
